Jang and Jin – perspektive Tao
for symphony orchestra, durata 16 min., 2002(magister composition)
When I had finished this piece of music, I was still seeking for the title of it. I don´t want to declare my own religion (I don´t declare taoism), but it should serve as an comparison and by means of comparison should help to comprehend the form and the content of this piece of music. The music is moving between two limits – principles that contradict and complete each other simultaneously. It can be said that the one depends on the other and on the contrary. One of them – the stable and the open one, if you like „the male“ (Jang) is represented by „an aliquat row), the other one – the unstable, the introvert one, the „female“ (Jin) is represented by „a quart harmony“. Both mentioned representatives of principles alternate in clear form, they are constants.
The evolution is brought by music between them. It comes from the one or it leads to the other and unite them eventually. In this way, both principles are becomming close and tension is disappearing. Differences are minimising in their interpretation too. In this way, the piece of music should reach harmonic coexistence of both principles. On purpose, it is finished, where the more prefect level begins. It is based on the connection of both principles that doesn´t make any tension but only harmony and perfect balance. I am sorry, but I am not so cheeky enough to attempt to express something so lofty, which is inaccesible to a man due to its perfectness (aim Tao…). That is why, my music is finished by connection of the both principles and doesn´t continue (only perspective of aim Tao…).
