Wall I

This wall is not here because of the longer twings,
which are full with fruits in it, behind it…
Don´t separate, don´t watch and don´t judge
and the very old kows,
that more likely interfere with the quiet
with crumbling to the blood stone…
And because it can´t be anything else,
it doesn´t miss anything, even if it finishes
scarsly ever visiting toilets…

Wall II

This wall,
quickly closed piece of place is also
full of red cracks
after the brain stroke of the red bricks…
It is very little attentive to the absence to the sun,
the shades are hiding the communication with a man
up to a revengeful intention.
And in this place you asked me,
whether the life is only the dream, you,
So living, when you are sleeping
you in the dream… But the wall itself!
Was she conscious of herself?

The happiness

What you said and then you still lived,
was for the dead people… but really
just the happiness itself is being in time
because nothing but happiness is being just now
the most present. The most mortal…

I selected three poems from the collection „Askepiós cock“, for composing this piece of music. I didn´t select it only by my momentary mood. I was looking for the poems, which in my view, are engaged in the main theme of Holan´s idea – with issue of possible extent of he human freedom. I think that this theme is impossible to substitute in the life of everyone. All of us live among the limits – among the wall. Some of them are created by assotiation itself and it means, that these are very changeable, the others are the same perhaps since the times, man lived in the caves and a bow and an arrow was an invention of future.

Such an invariable wall that perharps influence human life is time. As each wall, it can leads and limits: thanks to it, man is able to develop himself, instruct himself from his own faults, he remembers the past times and make plans for the future. Thanks to it, the thinks in realations, he is making comparisons all the time. So, the life looks like series of events, deeds, information and it causes the most limitation and due to it, life looks like a story that passes very quickly, even if it would be only filled up with joy and happiness.

The composition can be devided into six parts according to constantly more and more reducing strokes on Tam - tam that are being made longer towards the end. In each of them, the main factor is another music quantity (colour, dynamic, harmonic tension..) in the places, where is the biggest tension, the intensity is the same.

Mostly, the music express the development (changes in structure, dynamic gradations…). The development is stopped for several times and the music doesn´t cease express any tension. Instead of it, it brings, I hope the happy condition – feeling of timelessness. In this case, it brings changes that are very small and can be predictible. We can follow them, but my aim was as follows: they should bring the feeling of the calm, draming happiness. These are the moments, in which the present is the most important. The others are not important. It that means „The Escapes for the happiness“ are not moaning over the human unhappiness. I´m not among people who want to complain about my own „problems“ in this way. „Escapes“ are only metaphoric expression for the moments, I´m able to dip into my own feelings or feelings of my close people – that the happiness, the only thing that will get me, will be what is now going on and what is so easily mortal…
